Derwent and Howden Round Walk

On a dull, damp and windy day 12 hardy pathfinders plus Poppy (Golden Retriever) we set off from Fairholmes car park to navigate anti-clockwise around Derwent and Howden Reservoirs. The head wind for the first part of the walk was fearsome but we set a very good pace stopping for a hydration break at Howden dam. We plodded on to Slippery Stones, which was out of the wind for coffee break. Now walking south back towards Derwent Reservoir and strangely the wind changed direction and was again a headwind. Just before Tin Town we stopped for Lunch again out of the wind. The weather was actually being kind and apart from being dull and windy the rain for most part stayed away. Apart from a small residual we did not have any MUD and we finished the walk back at Fairholmes with clean boots. Many thanks to Roy for doing a brilliant job back marking and also to all the walkers for their company.
