There were 24 participants on today's walk which started from Edlington Pit Wood car park . Judging by the degree of difficulty in finding the car park, it was clear that few, if any, had used this starting point before. There was also a bit of a scramble for parking spots because contractors working on the reserve occupied a good section of the parking area with their site cabins. We quickly left the wide tracks into the woods as far as Wadworth. The break was taken just beyond half way on a very long log. The path became very rutted on the return journey before we got back into the reserve to climb to the Pit Wood summit. The final part passing the slurry pits was evidence of it's previous use. Refreshments were taken at the Grazing Harts in Micklebring.
