Today's walk was attended by 20 members and was ably led by Tracey. We set out under leaden skies with the threat of rain hanging over us for most of the walk. Leaving Treeton we soon reached Orgreave which was of course one of the focal points during the coal mining dispute of 1984-5. In the distance we could see the Advanced Manufacturing Park. Our journey was made more difficult as a result of work being done to clear a woodland area but we soldiered on up to Handsworth where we had our morning break on the recreation ground. From Handsworth we walked through woodland before reaching Woodhouse Mill. We encountered the occasional rain shower but made our way back to Treeton without mishap. Refreshments were taken at the "Robin Hood" in Aughton. Many thanks to you for turning out today on a day when the weather prospects were not very promising.
