Todays walk in detail

Old Moor RSPB.

It was a cold but sunny and crisp morning as 26 well clad walkers gathered at Old Moor for a 6 mile walk.We set off following the side of Manvers Lake towards the lakeside cafe where a brief stop was made for toilets. We headed north and after following the river Dearne for a while stopped for a break. Continuing along Car Head Lane we negotiated  many iced over puddles, which later became deeper and more tricky to get round, however without any fuss everyone made it. We eventually got to Marles Bridge and joined the Trans Pennine Trail back to Old Moor. Refreshments were taken at the Bluebell pub, Manvers. Thanks to all who attended and also thanks to Roy for back marking.
