Todays walk in detail

On a beautiful, clear sunny morning 19 of us plus 2 dogs set off on our circular walk around Manvers Lake. Underfoot was good only a few muddy spots and ice puddles here and there which Benny had great fun skating in. 
We saw lots of water fowl but unfortunately didn't see the lesser spotted wild water swimmer! We stopped to take a look at the view through a bird hide over the lake, but not a lot of bird life to see. We continued towards Old Moor where we enjoyed  a break in the pleasant sunshine, we could have stayed there all afternoon. Some of us even managed to do a spot of shopping. We continued our walk along the other side of the lake back towards the boathouse. Afterwards some of us enjoyed drinks and a chat at The Bell.
