Todays walk in detail

23 humans and 3 dogs set off from Renishaw, briefly following the Trans Pennine Trail before turning off the trail and heading through fields and over the old golf course towards Eckington. From Eckington, we carried on along Pipworth Lane until we reached the River Rother where we stopped for a coffee break and enjoyed the river views. After a cuppa, we headed towards Killamarsh, skirting its edge before joining the Cuckoo Way. This final stretch gave us some interesting views of what is left of the abandoned Chesterfield Canal. We finished back at the car park after 5.2 miles. A good few of us made our way to The Treble Bob in Barlborough for some well-deserved refreshments and a chat, always a great way to round off the walk. Thanks to everyone who came along.
