Todays walk in detail

On a beautiful, sunny day 20 members and 4 dogs set out from the Cavalier car park in Ravenfield walking along Braithwell Road. We turned left down a lane which runs close to the M18 passing Conisbrough Grange farm on the right. The footpath then took us towards Birk Lodge and on the field to our left we were greeted by 3 friendly horses who also were also enjoying the Spring sunshine. Conditions underfoot were so much better than those we have experienced in recent days. We then passed Firsby Reservoir where our morning break was taken. The final part of our journey took us past Ravenfield church, then through Gulling wood and back to our starting point in Ravenfield. Refreshments were taken at the Grazing Harts and it was an added bonus that it was warm enough to sit outside for a change. Thanks to Roy and Donna for backmarking and all of you who made the walk such an enjoyable experience.
