15 of us set off from Three Merry Lads public house along a rocky edge. With a little help from gentlemen got ladies over some rocky terrain. Down to Rivlin valley with a very friendly sheep who we adopted. Then a big pull up to Stannington with a few grunts and groans. Along ridge down through woods to the A57. We crossed dam and here we had lunch on tables for 10 and 5 overlooking Rivlin reservoir with a crystal clear sky and sun. The best part was still to come with Wyming brook which felt more like Wyoming in the heat. Then tumbling waters and bridges for nearly a mile upstream where we lost several people only to find at the top on a higher path so no losses today. The last mile or so back to cars and then a welcome drink outside the Merry Lads. Quite a few stating what a wonderful walk on a beautiful day, thanks to everyone for taking part.
