On a cool may morning 21of us set off from Ford Bottom car park we went along the stream and passed three fishing ponds then we entered Eckington woods were there was a lot beautiful blue bells and garlic plants we carried on through the woods onto gas house lane we did a detour and went to the cenotaph in Eckington for the memorial of men and women of the armed forces who lost there lives in the first and Second World War The last post was played and all felt very moving Then we went through the church yard it was decorated with poppies as school children had done all these with there teacher a few days before we then went through a field were we heard a wood pecker carried on up gas house lane passed the Alma pub into Mosborough we had a break on Plumbley Hall Road After the break we carried on to Plumbley Lane were we saw lovely views of Eckington woods as we approached the main road at ridge way we crossed the road onto Sloade Lane down to a small stream we went up a short incline through a field as again a lovely views of the valley below then onto Gere Lane over the road and passed the bridge inn pub were we stopped and had refreshments thanks to all that came on my first walk and thanks to Donna Steve and Nel for back marking.
