Todays walk in detail

On a cold but dry day 32 set off from Treeton Sports Club, passing around the first lake we then climbed the hill and over to the Railway Bridge leading to Handsworth, a break was taken at the park with plenty of seating and nice views. Next was the Chantry pub one of the very few licenced premises in church premises. We then had a long downhill through Smelter Wood to Woodhose Station and a brief walk through Woodhouse Mill to Orgreave Common and the path alongside the river back to the Club. Apre-walk refreshment was taken at the Robin Hood at Aughton. Thanks to all who attended the walk and who braved the first cold walk of the season, Anna and Peter.
