Todays walk in detail

Bolsterstone to Langsett Circular.

After welcoming Lindsay to the group, ten of us left Bolsterstone and headed for the trig point above Stocksbridge. Much to Natalie's delight, we then walked in the direction of the yellow object in the sky, something we hadn't seen for some time! We had our coffee stop round the campfire area by Underbank. At Midhope, we took the old railway line to Langsett where we had lunch. It was good to see that the Oystercatchers had returned to Langsett reservoir and, further along the route, we stopped to watch a large flock of Lapwings. After the climb up the moorland area we crossed some tricky stiles before heading up to the trig point once more then back to Bolsterstone. Refreshments were taken in the Castle pub. Thanks to Roy for back marking and to everyone who joined me on the walk.
