On a lovely sunny day,13 off us set of from the old market square in Longnor, across a few fields onto the small hamlet of Hollinsclough ,descending down through a field and over the Packhorse Bridge where we followed the track to the start off the climb up Chrome hill AKA the dragons back. Most off the group climbed the tricky accent to the top with Peter taking those that didn’t climb it around the bottom off the hill to take the steady ascent. We had lunch at the top with fantastic views all around and of the Packhouse hill. We carried on up Dowall Lane onto a short steep climb over to Earl Sterndale passing a once public house called the quiet woman. We then headed over to Crowdecote over the River Dove at Beggers Bridge back to Longnor where we had drinks at The Old Cheshire Cheese pub Many thanks to Andrew B and Peter M for back marking and all that came for an enjoyable walk.
