Todays walk in detail

18 members set off from the Dunford Bridge Trans Pennine Car Park. We joined the track taking the route of two underground, parallel, train tunnels going from Dunford Bridge to the disused train station on the Woodhead Pass. After walking over Open Access moorland, we passed down through a lovely valley and Upper Windle Reservoir. We returned to the car park to have lunch at the very smart picnic tables. We saved Winscar reservoir for the afternoon. The water was very low and revealed a very old, wide , drystone bridge. The high, undulating, moorland path gave us a good vantage point. We returned with 15 people and drinks were taken at the Wortley Club.
