Despite the gloomy weather forecast, 25 ramblers turned out for a walk which was changed from the scheduled one due to relentless mud. Surprisingly, the weather stayed dry throughout. We started from Ravenfield church along good paths to Firsby hamlet and then on to somewhat muddier paths around Firsby reservoir. The intention then was to take the higher path around Ravenfield ponds but this became an out and back detour to avoid a steep and slippery descent. Overall, the paths were as good as could be expected given the amount of recent rain. Thanks to Annie for back marking. Refreshments were taken at the Earl of Strafford.
