Todays walk in detail

A total of 30 walkers participated in the event. Weather conditions were favourable, remaining dry throughout with occasional sunny intervals and a moderate breeze. The walk commenced from Winthrop Gardens Car Park, proceeding through woodland areas into Wickersley and continuing onwards towards Whiston. A scheduled hydration stop was taken at the driveway of Sitwell Golf Club before descending to a main road crossing en route to Whiston. The group navigated through Whiston and undertook a further main road crossing, leading to a field path towards the entrance of Pinchmill Fisheries. A second rest break was taken at the boundary gate of Pinchmill Fisheries, allowing participants time for refreshments. Following this, the group ascended the return path towards Winthrop, involving an uphill section of approximately 15 minutes. The final road crossing was completed safely, and the walk concluded at Winthrop Gardens Café, where participants gathered for refreshments. Special thanks are extended to Mike (Backmarker) and John (Middle Marshal) for their valuable assistance in ensuring the smooth running and safety of the walk. It is hoped that all participants enjoyed the experience
