Todays walk in detail

35 people and 3 dogs set off from the Welbeck and Dukeries Garden Centre car park. After crossing the A60 we left the main road to walk around part of the perimeter of the quarry and then down to Belph brook. We avoided the very rickety bridge walking instead through Belph village. After crossing back over the A60 we set off through newly ploughed fields and onto other fields where some boxing hares were spotted. We emerged on the bluebell lined, Broad Lane. That led us to South Lodge Tunnel entrance where we had a coffee stop in the sunshine. Then onwards down to cross the Great Lake and past Welbeck Abbey/ House. We finished on paths leading back to Welbeck Courtyard where some ramblers stayed to enjoy the shops and cafes and the rest of us enjoyed a drink beside the canal at The Lockkeeper.
