Despite the high temperatures forecast by the media 11 mad English ladies and men met at Finkle Street car park laden with gallons of water to attempt 6.5 miles of countryside around Wortley and Thurgoland. We set off through Crane Moor on the way to Eastfield farm where we had meal stop. We the started a steady uphill via Pulehill to Thurgoland. The return journey took in Hulthwaite Hall and House. The hot weather and 5 water stops had extended the walk time therefore we missed out Mill Moor! and took the trail back to the cars. Despite the heat and the extended time , we benefitted by Wortley Club being open for Refreshments. Thank you to all who did the walk and no doubt shed a few pounds.
