Thanks to all 19 who turned up for one of my favourite short walks. It was a clear blue sky, the sun was out and there was a moderate breeze.
Starting from Cote Green Car Park we passed through Thurgoland tunnel on the TPT and dropped down to the River Don. No breeze down here, dappled sunlight through the trees with the river gently meandering through the valley, perfect.
We passed the old mill house and the sheep in the field before crossing the bridge over the river. We then made our way up through the woods, arriving at the communal garden in Green Moor Village for a drink and a snack. After calling at Green Moor Pump House and Well we made our way over the village green and up through Delph Quarry. Crossing the top field we had great views over Stocksbridge and beyond. We went down through the woods over the stepping stones bridge, although some used the actual stepping stones, to cross the river, then back to the car park. A warm welcome to four new walkers, Marion, Ella, Andri and Sonia (hope I got the names right!). A big thanks to Mike for backmarking.
