On a pleasant Autumn morning, 18 walkers and 2 dogs set off from Harthill car park initially going through the village before taking a left turn onto a bridleway which skirted Kiveton Waters Country Park. The paths led to Woodall village where there was a section of road walking along virtually traffic free lanes. After an impromptu elevenses break, we finally reached Harthill reservoir and carefully traversed a path which was partly eroded. The path opened out onto the lakeside and we returned to the car park.

24 members of the walking group plus one dog set out from Saint James church in Ravenfield on a day when showers were threatened but never really materialised. Conditions underfoot were very good, particularly as the path around Thrybergh Country Park has recently been resurfaced. A short comfort break was taken at the cafe where numerous swans had gathered on the water. The coffee break was taken next to the church before the group moved on to the circular route around Ravenfield ponds.

A total of 30 walkers participated in the event. Weather conditions were favourable, remaining dry throughout with occasional sunny intervals and a moderate breeze. The walk commenced from Winthrop Gardens Car Park, proceeding through woodland areas into Wickersley and continuing onwards towards Whiston. A scheduled hydration stop was taken at the driveway of Sitwell Golf Club before descending to a main road crossing en route to Whiston. The group navigated through Whiston and undertook a further main road crossing, leading to a field path towards the entrance of Pinchmill Fisheries.

Twenty of us set off from the car park suitably dressed for the wet weather. We walked towards Manvers Lake which was quite active with paddle boarders and wild water swimmers. The resident ducks looked on thinking to themselves "They must be quakers!!!" 😂 ( sorry, couldn't resist). We picked up three more ramblers along the way, plus one straggler, swelling our numbers to twenty-four. Not a bad turn out considering the weather!  We marched passed the golf course onto the Trans Pennine Trail negotiating large muddy puddles as we went.

Thank you to the 9 members who turned up at Monyash when the weather report was dubious. The weather was in fact good, with sunshine until 1pm but then the heavens opened and we got truly soaked. However it didn't daunt our good spirits. The route took us up through fields, over a couple of awkward styles to a track.

It was my pleasure to lead the last walk of 2025. 20 walkers set off from the very busy A57. We soon entered Lindrick Dale and the beautiful Houses. We then walked down by the canal and stopped for a break at Shireoaks by the stream.

We had to re-route Tracey's walk owing to the partial closure of footpaths in Thrybergh Country Park. 20 walkers + 2 dogs set off from St James Church on yet another fine summer's day heading for Ravenfield up a gentle slope towards the wood. From there we walked along Braithwell Road crossing the field that sometimes includes rescued horses courtesy of the Thornberry charity; none to be seen on this particular day. We took our break at the top of the hill before continuing down the lane towards Ravenfield Ponds and completed this part of the walk in a clockwise direction.

Blue skies and a glorious sunny day! 23 of us left Elmwood farm, crossed the A57 and headed towards Rother Valley. We joined the nicely shaded TPT after crossing the 2 railway bridges and headed towards Killamarsh. We had a brief water break over looking the cable ski and inflatables and carried on towards the cafe for our planned 'elevenses!' Onwards we followed the path to the top lake, where we went round and rejoined the TPT back towards woodhouse making the walk 5-milesish! Fab sunshine and great company! What better way to spend a Thursday morning!
